JFJ Interview
If I were to interview Jerry Falwell Junior I would ask him about his views on alcohol. One of the biggest debates among Christians is whether or not drinking is Biblical. I have heard rumors that the Falwell family drinks so I would love to hear what he has to say about that standard.
For preparation for this interview I would research any previous statements Falwell has given about this subject. I would also look up University policies for staff drinking. Finally, I would research for anything that his father, Jerry Falwell, had said on the subject.
Questions:
1.) What are your views on the consumption of alcohol?
2.) Do you believe that drinking alcohol is morally wrong?
3.) Can you back up your answer with Scripture?
4.) How often do you consume alcohol?
5.) What did your father think of alcohol?
6.) Do you believe that drinking alcohol contradicts Liberty's belief system?
7.) Would you say that drinking alcohol changes your state of mind?
8.) Is drinking alcohol any different from smoking weed?
9.) Do you believe that the wine in the Bible contained alcohol?
10.) When your kids reached the appropriate age, what advice did you give them about alcohol?

ISIS threatens Obama, Japanese and Jordanian hostages in new online messages. In the most recent of the beheading videos from ISIS, the terrorist group directly threatens United States President Obama. The fighters threaten that the group will come to America, behead Obama in the White House and turn the United States into an Islamic state. The video included two other threats of the lives of a Japanese hostage as well as a Jordanian hostage, both to be freed in exchange for a member of ISIS being held in Jordan.
Company makes "Deflagate" soda. Avery's Soda Company, based in New Britain, Connecticut, produced a soda flavor making fun of the deflated football scandal associated with the local football team the New England Patriots. Coming out just in time for the Superbowl, this limited edition soda is called Deflated Ball Brew, and is a mix of grapefruit, lime and orange. Ironically, this soda was produced with less carbonation than normal and 1 out of every 12 sodas is flat.
Utah parents, fearing apocalypse, fatally drugged children, themselves, police say. After months of investigation, authorities determine that the mysterious deaths of a Utah family were not accidental. Benjamin and Kristi Stacks and their three children ages 11-14, were found dead on the floor of their bedroom on September 27, 2014. Each of the bodies had an empty cup next to them, and it was determined that the Stacks had been afraid of a coming apocalypse and had given the family a toxic level of drugs to kill them.

Homework 1
Evan Apon spent his Christmas break
in Atlanta, Georgia hanging out with his family. He is one of nine children and has four
brothers and four sisters. While he was
on break he also went to Passion Conference.
This was a three-day conference in Atlanta that had different speakers
every day. Some of the speakers
included: Francis Chan, John Piper, and Chris Tomlin.
Francis
Chan was Evan’s favorite speaker, because he seemed to be the most genuine of
the speakers. There were about 25,000
people at the conference, and some of the speakers seemed to be bothered by the
crowd so their talks came off more like performances than heart felt
wisdom. Chan, however, did not seem to
be phased by the crowd and he gave a powerful talk about prayer.
Evan was
really moved by Chan’s thoughts on prayer.
The main point of Chan’s speech was the dilution of the importance of
prayer in modern day society. He
challenged the crowd with showing them the difference of how prayer was seen in
the Old Testament versus modern day. In
the Old Testament it was considered a high honor for the priests to go before
the Holy God and intercede on behalf of the people but now that Jesus has come
to intercede for all mankind, people overlook the honor that it is to go
directly to God, and often times pastors have to beg the members of their youth
groups to pray. This conference made for
a great break.
